Fall is nature’s reminder to let go. As we transition into winter, our focus shifts to finding comfort within as we move towards a new year. It is a time for resting and burrowing into yourself, your poses, and for falling into a greater state of being rather than doing. This year has been a challenging one for all of us, so it’s especially important right now to practice this self-care; to reflect and acknowledge what we have accomplished, how we have grown and evolved, even through those challenges.
Our Winter Wellness Workshop emphasizes on boosting the immune system to keep you healthy during the cold and dark months ahead, plus help you avoid the winter blues. We will touch on Ayurvedic (Life Science) principles with a focus on how to live harmoniously and thrive with the seasonal qualities of cold, windy Vata and wet, earthy Kapha during these months. You will learn about how to do this through the food you eat, the exercise you do, and more. While we cannot control the weather, we can work to build up our health, vitality, and resistance to disease.
We will do a 90-minute Yin-Yang yoga practice that will include standing, grounding poses like forward bend, lunge/warrior variations, and twisting to stimulate the immune and digestive systems. Following, we ease down onto the mat to tune in, relax, and release with nesting poses, like child’s pose and more.
After class, we will go to Kalaset for a cozy meal and warm drinks that support the beneficial practices we learned. Enjoy a hyggeligt time with your community and celebrate all the good things you have in life while letting go!
The price of the ticket includes the workshop and one meal ticket, plus drink. Dinner will be hosted from 5 p.m. at Kalaset, 15 minutes walking from the studio or 5 minutes by bike.
